Globalscape have released EFT 7.3.3, including the launch of a new Advanced Authentication Module (AMM) with support for SAML web single sign on and a brand new Microsoft Outlook® Add-in for the Workspaces module.

New Advanced Authentication Module (AMM):

This brand new module for EFT Enterprise provides support for easy-to-use authentication methods, including smart card, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication options.

AMM Features:

  • SAML Web Single Sign-On:

Identity management is achieved through a centralised source of authentication. Single Sign-On (SSO) provides users with the ability to input their credentials once to have secure access to multiple sites, apps, or resources via SAML protocol support.

  • RSA SecurID® Authentication Compatibility:

EFT Enterprise is compatible with the most recent version of RSA’s Authentication Manager (AM), version 8.1. This guarantees interoperability with the latest supported version of EFT Enterprise and RSA AM, for two-factor authentication in conjunction with Globalscape, LDAP, and ODBC-authenticated sites.

  • Remote Authentication Dial-In User (Radius) Integration:

Radius allows for integration with third-party SMS solutions for text message verification as a second factor during authentication.

  • Common Access Card (CAC) Authentication Support:

EFT Enterprise with AAM supports Common Access Card (CAC) authentication, which provides unified access and authentication to provide physical access to buildings and computer systems.

New Microsoft Outlook® Add-in for Workspaces:

In this latest release, Globalscape have made updates to the Workspaces module for EFT, including the new Microsoft Outlook® Add-in, users can now enjoy the ad hoc functionality of Mail Express, with the centralised governance and visibility controls built into EFT. This is the first step in a much larger initiative, which is set to continue next year.

Upgrading your EFT Environment

Upgrading EFT can appear daunting and time consuming, you have to backup your data, backup your settings, update your development “sandbox,” then push it to production–assuming everything goes well. Upgrading software like EFT can be a huge decision that might require approval from several departments, with pressure to ensure all goes smoothly.
